Where a message goes

Your message passes through Diogenes to the model. The response returns to your chat.

Confidential inference
A sealed room for the model
Some models run through NEAR AI in a hardware-protected environment. Diogenes checks cryptographic evidence for the inference service before it sends anything there.
The hardware attests to what it runs. Each reply carries a signature over exactly what was sent and received.
Diogenes verifies the hardware evidence, the signing key, the approved software and the connection, and refuses the route when any of it is stale or fails. Verification details sit on each reply and in Settings → Models. A verified reply is one that came from the checked service; it is not a claim that the answer is correct.
Diogenes still processes your messages to provide chats, JARs and browsing. This is separate from the encryption of stored chats and is not end-to-end encryption. Models marked confidential are listed on the Models page; the shorter version is in the FAQ.
The name
A lamp lit at noon
Diogenes of Sinope walked through Athens with a lamp lit in daylight, looking for an honest man.
He owned almost nothing and said exactly what he saw. The name is the standard we hold to: plain words about where your words go, and nothing else in the room.
What stays with you
Kept for you
Your identity, conversations, sessions, files, and shared workspaces.

- Your wallet. One signed message; no email, no password, no transaction. The address is the account.
- Conversations
- Stored for that wallet on servers Diogenes operates and served back only to it. Export or delete your chats from Settings.
- Sessions
- Stay signed in securely. Review your active sessions in Settings and revoke access when needed.
- What you attach
- Images can be used by models with vision. Supported documents are read and included as text. Chat attachments stay private; to share a document, publish it to a JAR's Knowledge.
- JARs
- Shared instructions and documents for you and your collaborators. Only content you explicitly publish becomes shared Knowledge — including answers a JAR chat auto-saves if you switch that on. Other members, including the owner, cannot read your private chats.
